1992 | How it started
The business XiniX AB was started by current CEO Peter Homberg's father Göran Holmberg almost 30 years ago.
Göran worked internationally and saw a need for a simple water disinfection to take with him when he traveled around the world. Together with an innovator, he developed AquaCare, based on a self-developed stabilized chlorine dioxide.
The first 10 years were spent on product development and use for own use.
2000 | Collaborations with, among others, MSB & UN
At the beginning of the 2000s, many requests came from aid organizations; disasters that occurred led to an intimate collaboration with a MSB and UN organisations.
Peter Holmberg, our current CEO joined the business as it expanded.
2004-2010 | Disaster relief
XINIX delivered to the Tsunami in Thailand, the Haiti earthquake, the Pakistan earthquake and to Myanmar/Burma through the UN after a meeting between Göran Holmberg and Jan Eliasson in New York in 2006.
2015 | 95% of the aviation market
The aviation industry in the Nordics switched to our products in 2015 and where we now have 95% of the market.
2010-2019 | Tests and more employees
A two-component version was developed. At the end of the 2000s, tests were carried out at Örebro University Hospital regarding spore-forming bacteria. The tests turned out very well and XINIX obtained the first EN standard. Then another 5 EN standards, evidence and proof of the products' effectiveness.
Anders Gripenberg and the chemist Robert Heinrich were hired. Further development of hand disinfection and other products were developed for various purposes, for example surface disinfection.
The business moved into the Arninge industrial area, outside Stockholm, where we are today.
