Xinix part of EU application together with Karolinska Institutet, Getinge and Ericsson in Vietnam and Southeast Asia

Xinix Global AB is participating in an application for an EU-funded research and innovation project within Horizon Europe, Innovative Health Initiative, IHI JU. The project brings together leading actors from academia and industry with a focus on developing and implementing integrated solutions for diagnostics and infection control in hospital environments in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

The project, SMART-AMR, addresses one of the greatest global threats to public health, antibiotic resistance. By combining advanced diagnostics, digital platforms, and effective infection control solutions, the goal is to reduce the spread of infection, improve treatment decisions, and strengthen patient safety in environments with a high prevalence of healthcare-associated infections.

If the application is approved, the solutions will be implemented and evaluated in real hospital environments, including intensive care units. The focus is on creating evidence-based and scalable models that can contribute to improved infection control both in Europe and internationally.

Xinix's role in the project

Xinix Global AB contributes as a clean-tech company with solutions for water and surface disinfection. Within the project, the main focus is on FreeBact® Fogging, a portable solution for rapid and comprehensive disinfection of enclosed spaces in hospital environments. This takes place in the form of a dry fog, which does not require wiping and inactivates ALL viruses and bacteria.

FreeBact® technology is integrated into the project's work to strengthen infection control, where fogging is used as a central method to reduce the spread of infection via air and surfaces.

The focus is on evaluating how the solution can contribute to improved hygiene, reduced incidence of healthcare-associated infections, and reduced spread of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in high-burden environments.

International cooperation for global health

The project is led by Karolinska Institutet and includes a broad consortium of international actors in medicine, technology, and digital health. The collaboration enables a unique link between research, clinical practice, and technology development, with the goal of creating long-term solutions to global health challenges.
