Our vision: safe water for all
Access to safe drinking water was one of Xinix co-founder Göran Holmberg's most important concerns.
The Xinix Foundation was formed to carry this ambition forward and make proven technology available even where financial resources are lacking.
The need is still enormous:

Access to safe water is still a global challenge
4.4 billion people lack safely managed drinking water
Despite significant progress, around one in four people worldwide lacked access to safely managed drinking water in 2024, according to WHO and UNICEF.
A lack of safe water and sanitation increases the risk of waterborne diseases, especially in communities with limited infrastructure and during humanitarian crises.
Safe water is a fundamental prerequisite for health, safety, and development.
This is how we want to make a difference
Simple technology, adapted to local needs
In many areas, water is available, but its quality means it cannot be used as drinking water without treatment.
Through appropriate filtration and effective disinfection, local water resources can in many cases be used to produce safe drinking water.
Xinix Foundation wants to contribute solutions that are easy to use, cost-effective, and adapted to local conditions.
Knowledge and collaboration create long-term sustainability
Sustainable initiatives require more than technology. Through collaboration with local organizations, authorities, and humanitarian actors, we want to contribute to solutions that can be used and maintained even in the long term.
Experience from humanitarian efforts
Knowledge and technology that make a difference in vulnerable environments
Xinix has a long history of working with water disinfection and experience from international disaster relief efforts.
Over the years, the company's technology and products have been used in humanitarian relief efforts, including after the tsunami in Thailand and the earthquakes in Pakistan and Haiti.
These experiences are an important part of the foundation of the Xinix Foundation and the ambition to make effective solutions available when the needs are greatest.
An independent foundation with access to Swedish technology
The Xinix Foundation is an independent legal entity with a humanitarian and public-interest purpose.
The Foundation collaborates with the Swedish clean-tech company Xinix Global AB, which develops and provides technology and products for the disinfection of water and surfaces.
Through the collaboration, the Foundation gains access to technical expertise, proven solutions, and experience in various types of water treatment.
The Foundation's purpose includes improving the living conditions of vulnerable and needy people through safe drinking water and disinfection, as well as providing assistance during wars, disasters, and other urgent situations.
The goal is to use available resources where they can do the greatest possible good.
