Water can look clean without being safe
Clear water is not the same as microbiologically safe water. When outdoors or traveling, water from sources such as lakes, streams, and wells may contain microorganisms that cannot be detected by looking at, smelling, or tasting the water.
Even water refilled in a motorhome, caravan, or boat can be affected by how the tank and water system have been used and maintained.
If the water is cloudy or contains visible particles, it must first be coarsely filtered.
