Clean water throughout the system

Drinking water passes through many stages before reaching the user. Tanks, reservoirs, pipes, and distribution systems must collectively maintain good water quality all the way to the tap.

Stagnant water, biofilm, and microbiological growth can cause problems in both small and large water systems. In the event of operational disruptions, contamination, or the need for emergency water, solutions that can be quickly deployed may also be required.

FreeBact® makes it possible to treat drinking water, sanitize tanks and water systems, and work preventively against biofilm and microbiological growth. The solutions can be adapted from individual applications to continuous treatment.

Common challenges in water & wastewater

Water quality can be affected at several points in the system. Long pipe runs, low turnover, temperature fluctuations and stagnant water can create conditions conducive to microbiological growth and biofilm.

Tanks and reservoirs may also need to be disinfected following contamination, operational shutdowns or maintenance. In the event of leaks, floods and other disruptions, the need for safe drinking water can also arise quickly, sometimes before the regular supply has been restored.

The challenge, therefore, is not only to treat the water, but to be able to manage both acute problems and the long-term hygiene of the entire water system.

How FreeBact® helps

FreeBact® can be used to treat drinking water and to sanitize tanks, reservoirs, and piping systems. If needed, the treatment can be adapted to different water volumes and used for both planned interventions and when a problem needs to be addressed quickly.

For systems with ongoing needs, FreeBact® Dosage can be used for continuous dosing and preventive water hygiene. In this way, the same basic technology can be used for everything from temporary sanitization to a long-term solution.

FreeBact® kills viruses, bacteria, and fungi, removes biofilm, and leaves no harmful residues.

From emergency response to long-term water hygiene

Needs vary depending on the situation. Sometimes a rapid response is required following microbiological contamination, a system shutdown, or biofilm problems. In other systems, the focus is on preventing recurring problems and maintaining water hygiene over time.

FreeBact® can be used for both targeted interventions and as part of a long-term treatment strategy. This makes it possible to use the same underlying technology for everything from treating a single tank or reservoir to decontaminating a larger water system and continuous dosing.
