Hygiene throughout the transport chain
Trains, aircraft and other transport environments have their own systems for water, storage and distribution. Drinking water must be safe throughout the entire process, from refilling to the dispensing point, while cabins, toilets, serving areas and other common areas are used by many people every day.
The systems are often compact, difficult to access, and subject to varying operation, downtime, and loads.
FreeBact® offers solutions for drinking water, water systems, surfaces, and enclosed spaces, tailored to the transport environment.
Common challenges in transport and aviation
Drinking water is often stored in tanks and distributed through pipes, valves, and dispensing points in systems where space is limited and access can be difficult.
Stagnant water, varying temperatures, and recurring operational shutdowns can create conditions conducive to biofilm and microbiological growth. At the same time, cabin areas, toilets, and food service environments need to be kept hygienic despite heavy use and short service times.
The challenge, therefore, is to manage both the hidden water system and the visible environments used by passengers and crew every day.
How FreeBact® helps
FreeBact® Water can be used for drinking water treatment and targeted applications in tanks and relevant water systems. FreeBact® Dosage can be used where continuous dosing is a suitable part of the system solution.
FreeBact® Surface is used for the disinfection of surfaces and equipment, while FreeBact® Fogging enables rapid and comprehensive disinfection of enclosed spaces.
This makes it possible to address multiple parts of the hygiene chain, from water on board to cabins and other environments where people spend time.
Typical applications
From tanks to passenger environments
- Freshwater tanks on board
- Piping systems and dispensing points
- Trains and passenger coaches
- Aircraft and cabin environments
- Toilets and hygiene areas
- Serving areas and galleys
- High-touch surfaces
- Sanitization after service interruptions
- Preventive water hygiene
- Service and maintenance environments
From remediation to preventive hygiene
Here I think we should have a fifth section, especially since transport vehicles often alternate between intensive operation and periods of inactivity or maintenance.
After extended periods of inactivity, maintenance, or water quality issues, the water system may need to be sanitized before the vehicle returns to service. In other cases, the work involves preventing the buildup of biofilm and microbiological issues between service intervals.
FreeBact® can be used both for targeted interventions and as part of a long-term hygiene program tailored to the vehicle's systems, operation, and service cycles.
Do you want to improve water hygiene and disinfection in the transport environment?
We help you find the right solution for drinking water, tanks, piping systems, surfaces, and enclosed spaces based on the vehicle's operational and hygiene requirements.
